Bach Vespers series – number 2

For the Feast of Presentation (Candlemas)

This event is the second in our series of Bach Vespers services, made possible by a generous grant from the George Eyre Charitable Trust to help with expenses. 

The third and fourth Vespers events will be:

Sunday 16 June for Trinity Sunday, cantata no. 176. This is part of the SWOS Festival – see below for details
Friday 25 October for Trinity XIX, cantata no. 48 ‘Ich elender Mensch’. This will be part of a concert at the Minster Church, Axminster (please note, this is a change from the date published in our September newsletter)

SWOS Festival

Friday 14 to Sunday 16 June

Friday evening at 7.30pm, at the Minster Church, Axminster: organ recital by Timothy Noon, director of music at Exeter Cathedral.
Saturday evening, also at the Minster Church, Axminster: concert of ‘Acis and Galatea’ by Handel (with the Axminster Choral Society)
Sunday at St Andrew’s Church, Colyton: ‘Come and sing’ Bach Vespers for Trinity Sunday. Cantata no. 176 ‘Es ist ein trotzig und verzagt Ding’. This is a ‘come and sing’ event – service at 6.30pm, rehearsal in the afternoon. Other details to follow
