Philip Scriven ARCO, FRCO, LRAM, MA, BA(Cantab), MM(Juilliard) will be the lead tutor for the 2024 winter workshop.Philip is one of the leading organists in the UK today and enjoys a worldwide reputation as a recitalist.

After spending much of his life working in the English Cathedral tradition, most recently as Organist and Master of Choristers at Lichfield Cathedral, Philip is currently the Organist in Residence at Cranleigh School as well as being accompanist and deputy conductor of the London Bach Choir.


Richard Godfrey MD, FRCP, ARCO(TCR).  Retired physician. Teacher for the Salisbury Diocesan PipeUp! scheme for training young organists.   Organ Consultant to the Salisbury Diocesan Advisory Committee and Music Consultant to the Lyme Regis Organ School.

 


Andrew Millington has had a long career in Cathedral music, holding posts at Gloucester, Guildford and Exeter Cathedrals. He has made many recordings and broadcasts as a solo organist and has played in many prestigious venues at home and abroad. He now pursues a freelance career as organist, conductor, composer and examiner.

Peter Lea-Cox studied organ at the R.A.M. before becoming Assistant Music Master at Oundle School, Northants. In 1973 he returned to the R.A.M. combining administrative work with teaching Choral Conducting, Sight Singing and Keyboard Skills. Simultaneously, he was Director of Music at St. Jude-on-the Hill, NW11 and started a monthly Bach Cantata Series of concerts in the City of London.

In 1987, he was appointed Cantor of the Lutheran Church of St. Anne & St. Agnes where in conjunction with his Choir and Orchestra, the Lecosaldi Ensemble, he inaugerated the highly successful Bach Vespers Services, placing the designated Cantata in the proper context of Worship. For many years he was an ABRSM examiner and he also toured Denmark and the U.S.A. giving organ concerts.


Peter Parshall read Theology, and was Organist at Westminster College, Oxford, from where he studied the organ with David Saint at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. An Associate of the Royal College of Organists, Peter held church and cathedral posts in Oxford and Dublin, before moving to Devon where he directs several choirs. He teaches the organ at St. Swithun’s School in Winchester and is currently Director of Chapel Music at Jesus College, Oxford.

Peter worked for the Royal School of Church Music for many years, both in the UK and in Ireland, as an educator, examiner and facilitator, and was honoured recently with the award of Associate of the RSCM. Peter was the first Artistic Director of the South Wessex Organ Society, and is an occasional
composer with works having been commissioned and recorded by choirs in the UK, Ireland and the USA. He is the co-editor of the choral anthology, Weddings for Choirs, published by Oxford University Press, and a contributor to the New Dictionary of National Biography.
